What is the connection between Puma Punku and Atlantis? Good question. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Puma Punku you may be more familiar with it’s close neighbor (1/4 mile) Tiahuanaco. Both are near the shores of Lake Titicaca in Bolivia and are probably part of the same complex. Puma Punku is unique in the world for it’s level of complexity in stone work. The only thing I have ever seen that was even close is the sphinx temple near the great pyramid in Giza. There you see the same level of precision, but in a much less ornate building. It is also one of the oldest structures on earth, dated by some people as being 14,000 years old. This puts it in the same timeline that many people believe Atlantis also existed.
Atlantis in Bolivia?
Jim Allen has maintained that Bolivia is the location of Atlantis for years. He has some intriguing evidence, but few others have endorsed the idea. I happen to think he is onto something. I have always maintained that finding Atlantis is more about finding a culture, than finding a single location. Also, if you know where some things are can be a basis for finding other things. Puma Punka is perhaps as good a place as any to start the search for Atlantis. I believe that it may give some clues as to what to look for.
